Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) is a corporate body established under the Energy Regulatory Act No. 20 of 2004 as the Energy Sector Wide Regulator. Our mandate is to regulate the energy sector in Malawi in a fair, transparent, efficient and cost effective manner for the benefit of the consumers and operators. We are located in 2nd floor of Development House in City Centre, Lilongwe, Malawi.

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) considered recent trends in the world petroleum products’ prices and changes in other macroeconomic fundamentals in the local market and their impact on energy prices.

LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG) INTERNATIONAL PRICES
The average Free On Board (FOB) prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) increased by 33.51% from K302.34/Kg as noted in February 2015 K403.64/Kg in the month of April 2015.
