Our mandate is to regulate the energy sector in Malawi in a fair, transparent, efficient and cost effective manner for the benefit of the consumers and operators. LPG PRICES ADJUSTMENT: SEPT 2014

BACKGROUND

Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) considered recent trends in the international market Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices and changes in other macroeconomic fundamentals in the local market and their impact on landed cost for LPG.

LPG INTERNATIONAL PRICES

Since April 2013, FOB prices for LPG declined by 4.0% as noted in August 2014.

PETROLEUM PRODUCTS INTERNATIONAL PRICES

Since May 2014, FOB prices for petrol, diesel and paraffin declined by 7.07%, 5.62% and 3.83%, respectively.
